Software development

While able to suggest, install and support a range of third-party software applications on customer networks, occasionally the need has arisen for us to develop a bespoke software system to meet more specific needs of certain clients. We also develop solutions to enable the customer to link into, and extend the functionality of, existing third-party applications currently in use on their network.

Our software development is targeted at the Windows platform, built on Microsoft’s .NET framework (C# specifically) and hosting the data on Microsoft SQL Server. This combination allows compatibility with all recent versions of Windows, from Windows 2000 up to the latest Windows 7, with all software tested and verified to be fully compatible with each. SQL Server allows for thousands of data items to be stored on a reliable, standardised platform and with excellent speed and performance regardless of database size.

Stem Systems have recently launched a software product, PinSys (Patient Information System) - a clinical research package aimed at the medical profession and specifically for the ophthalmic community as a means of correlating a wide array of information on hospital/study patients and securely organising data and images related to them.
